Strengthening Global Ties: Sopps Hosts Howard University Exchange Students For Clinical Experience

Body

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS), University of Cape Coast hosted two Doctor of Pharmacy exchange students from Howard University College of Pharmacy (HUCOP), United States of America from November 11 – December 13, 2024.  This is part of the international exchange existing between UCC SoPPS and HUCOP.

Ms. Ayona Shelton and Mr. Pierre Aiywue had some hospital/clinical pharmacy practice experience during their visit as they joined the Level 600 PharmD students of UCC SoPPS during their Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Practice Experience rotations at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Ghana.  This encouraged knowledge and experience sharing among the SoPPS and HUCOP students.

At their send-off meeting, Prof. Elvis Ofori Ameyaw, the Dean of SoPPS thanked the students for their time with the School and urged them to share their experience with other international students to motivate them to undertake their exchange programme with SoPPS stating that would strengthen ties between the two Schools.

Also, present at the send-off meeting were Prof. Ernest Obese (Vice-Dean), Prof. Robert P. Biney (HoD, Dept. Of Pharmacotherapeutics & Pharmacy Practice), Ms. Constance Caroline Cobbold and the Faculty Officer, Mrs. Esther Bema Nimo.
