Body

History was made at the University of Cape Coast as the pioneer class of the School of Pharmacy (RX25) successfully completed their academic journey, writing their final paper on Monday 25th August, 2025.

The day was filled with jubilation as the trailblazing cohort, the very first since the School of Pharmacy was established, marked the end of years of dedication, resilience, and hard work. Dressed in specially designed RX25 T-shirts and official school cloth, the students celebrated with cheers, laughter, music, and symbolic champagne popping, signifying a memorable closure to their pioneering journey.

The event was graced by the Provost of the College of Health and Allied Sciences (Professor Martins Ekor), the Dean of the School of Pharmacy (Professor Ernest Obese), the School Faculty Officer (Mrs Esther Nimo), faculty members, and staff, who joined the students in celebrating this milestone. Together, they cut celebratory cakes and applauded the historic achievement of RX25, whose legacy will forever remain a reference point in the annals of the School.

A unique highlight of the day was the creative group formation of “RX25”, captured in photos as a lasting symbol of their identity and pioneering spirit.

Speaking on the occasion, members of the cohort expressed deep appreciation to their lecturers and mentors for the guidance and support throughout the journey. They acknowledged that the training at School of Pharmacy, UCC has not only shaped them academically but also prepared them to serve as professional pharmacists dedicated to excellence in healthcare.

The School of Pharmacy is proud of its pioneer graduates, RX25, and looks forward to seeing them carry the torch of leadership, service, and innovation into the future of pharmacy practice.

Congratulations, RX25! The foundation has been laid, you are the trailblazers of pharmacy education at UCC.
