UCC Pharmacy Student Recognized as Best Performing Candidate in 2024 WASSCE Across West Africa
Mr. David Nii Commey Ankrah, a Level 100 student at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Cape Coast (UCC), has been adjudged the Best Performing Candidate in West Africa for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates.
A proud alumnus of Hope College, Gomoa Fetteh, Mr. Ankrah emerged as the overall top performer in the sub-region in the examination administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
In recognition of his outstanding academic achievement, he was presented with the First Prize for International Excellence during the WASSCE Distinction Awards Ceremony held in Monrovia, Liberia, from 16th to 19th March 2025. His accomplishment was further acknowledged by the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, at a meeting with the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) on 9th April 2025 at the Sunyani Technical University.
This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to Mr. Ankrah’s dedication, discipline, and pursuit of academic excellence.
