The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences holds Orientation Programme

Body

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has organised an orientation programme to welcome newly admitted Pharm D students into the School. The event was held on 12th January, 2026 at the CoHAS Auditorium and marked the official induction of fresh students into the academic and professional environment of the University.

The orientation programme served as an important platform to familiarise students with the University’s academic culture, facilities, and available support systems. It also aimed at preparing students for a smooth transition into university life by providing guidance on academic structures, campus operations, student responsibilities, and expected standards of conduct. The orientation was attended by faculty members and administrators who offered guidance and encouragement to the new students. Their presence reinforced the School’s commitment to student welfare, academic excellence, and professional development.

The programme concluded with a strong emphasis by the Dean (Professor Ernest Obese) on the need for students to demonstrate discipline, ethical behaviour and adaptability in the University. Students were encouraged to commit themselves to continuous learning and professional growth as they begin their journey in pharmaceutical education at UCC
