School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Achieves 100% Pass Rate in Licensure Examinations: A Proud Milestone for the Pioneer PharmD (Rx’25) Class
On 9 December 2025, the pioneer cohort of Doctor of Pharmacy students (Rx’25) of the University of Cape Coast sat for the Ghana Pharmacy Professional Qualifying Examination (GPPQE) at Zenith University College, Accra. In a strong show of institutional support, the leadership and faculty of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, led by the Dean, Professor Ernest Obese, were present to encourage and motivate the candidates ahead of their oral interviews, which were conducted from Thursday, 11 December to Saturday, 13 December 2025.
Following the completion of the examinations, the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences recorded an outstanding academic milestone, achieving a 100 percent pass rate in the final professional licensure examinations by the Rx’25 graduating class. This remarkable outcome represents a historic achievement for the School and underscores the high academic standards upheld in its training programmes.
The graduating cohort displayed exceptional discipline, resilience, and scholarly competence, culminating in a clean sweep at the national licensure level. Faculty and management of the School have attributed this success to effective teaching, structured mentorship, and the strong collaborative commitment between students and staff. This achievement further reinforces the School’s growing reputation as a leading institution for pharmaceutical education and professional training in Ghana.
