The School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS) is a newly established school and one of four (4) Schools in the College of Health and Allied Sciences (CoHAS).The School was established in August 2018  to train students to obtain Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) in order to expand the healthare delivery team of professionals. It is an undergraduate professional (first degree) programme. The school has admitted its third batch of students into the PharmD programme. The school has five (5) Departments: Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy & Herbal Medicine, Pharmacotherapeutics & Pharmacy Practice. The School has a total of thirty-six (36) staff comprising eighteen (17) academic staff and nineteen (19) non-academic staff. The School is strategically positioned in the University of Cape Coast for the academic and professional development of not only professional pharmacist, but the capacity building of future generations of academics and scholars in the field of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences. SoPPS offer you many great possibilities by patnering, enrolling and sponsoring. WELCOMING/ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR NEW 2022 PHARM-D STUDENT

University of Cape Coast, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences organised a welcome programme for newly admitted pharmacy student on the 13th of January 2022 at CoDE Conference Room. All SoPPS Staff were in attendance to welcome and orientate the freshers. The Dean, Prof Elvis Ameyaw admonished the student to be disciplined and stay focused while on campus. Also said all the teaching staffs are ready to help them succeed and their offices are accessible for academic advices. The Dean wished them the very best in the University.

UCC-SoPPS STAFF SWEEPS AWARD

Staffs of the University of Cape Coast SoPPS have won the prestigious research grants across all categories at the just ended Sixth Research Awards and Grants Ceremony held on the 9th December 2021 at the School of Medical Sciences Auditorium. The support from the University’s committee is to deepen research, excellence, innovation and technologically entrepreneurship which will accelerate national development.

TWO DAYS WORKSHOP / RETREAT FOR SOPPS STAFF

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS) organised a two-day workshop for staff from Wednesday, 30th November to Thursday, 1st December, 2021. The workshop aims at reviewing the activities of the school's past, current and future ways to make it better for its future projections. The workshop was attended by twelve (12) academic staff, five (5) administrative staff, an accountant, IT co-ordinator and two (2) national service persons.

SoPPS Dean's Cup 2021

The match was played on 20th of August in celebration of Ghana Pharmaceutical Student's Association (GPSA-UCC) week '21. The match comprises of different teams such as;

  • SoPPS Staffs.
  • Cape Coast Teaching Hospital Pharmacist (CCTH).
  • PharmD Year 2 students.
  • PharmD Year 1 students.

It was a beautiful event as SoPPs team won the following: 

SoPPS Training Workshop for Preceptors

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences held a day workshop for its preceptors on the 1st of July, 2021 at CoDE Seminar room 2. Lecturers, some SoPPS staffs and participants from different health sectors were present. The workshop was chaired by the Dean of SoPPS (Prof Elvis Ameyaw).

SoPPS-UCC AND PSGH INTERACTION MEETING

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS), University of Cape Coast facilitated an educative and social interaction between members of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), Central Regional branch
