SCHOOL OF PHARMACY AND PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES ORGANISE A ONE-DAY PROJECT SEMINAR FOR LEVEL 400 PHARMD STUDENTS
The Project Seminar was organised for the PharmD Level 400 students to guide and refine their research skills in preparation for their project work. This seminar occurred on 14th June 2024 at the College of Distance Education Conference Room. The seminar featured interactive sessions between faculty and students, presentations, and opportunities for questions and contributions from all attendees. The Vice-Dean, Dr. Ernest Obese, in his opening remarks, welcomed everyone for honouring the invitation and explained the essence of the seminar which is to guide the students in their project work and to guide them in the writing of their dissertations. Dr. Daniel Obeng-Mensah, the SoPPS Undergraduate Project Coordinator gave a presentation on the outline/format for writing a thesis and guidelines on how to search for credible materials and information online.
Dr. Isaac Tabiri Henneh provided a detailed guide on effectively utilising the GraphPad Prism software application as a valuable tool for creating clear, high-quality figures and graphs and also analysis in their project work. Participants were also taken through how to write references and Dr. Jonathan Asante's presentation was focused on providing a step-by-step demonstration of how to effectively use the EndNote referencing application as a valuable tool for referencing their project work.
Participants expressed gratitude for the practical sessions and tools shared during the seminar, which they believed would significantly contribute to their thesis writing. The Undergraduate Project Coordinator, in his closing remarks, promised to organise more seminars focused on enhancing students’ research and writing skills.
